A two-panel stairwell commission for a Victorian home in Alameda's Gold Coast neighborhood. The clients wanted California imagery interpreted through an Art Nouveau lens — chosen to complement the existing furnishings and artwork in the house.

The oak tree runs through both panels as a single continuous composition, the trunk rising from the lower panel into branches that spread across the upper. A barn swallow in flight occupies the upper panel; a dragonfly hovers in the lower. At the base, stylized red poppies rise from the border. A warm amber Art Nouveau frame with decorative corner elements unifies the full composition top to bottom.
